ELECTRICAL ENGINEER JOB IN TANZANIA

Tanzania International Container Terminal Services Limited (TICTS) is a member of Hutchison Port Holdings Group (HPH) of Hong Kong. The HPH network of port operations comprises 320 berths in 52 ports, spanning 26 countries throughout Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, the Americas and Australasia. Over the years, HPH has expanded internationally into other logistics, transportation related businesses. These include cruise ship terminals, airport operations, distribution centers, rail services, and ship repair facilities. In 2012, the HPH port network handled a combined throughput of76.8 million TEU worldwide.

We are seeking applications from suitably qualified, motivated individuals to fill the position of Electrical Engineer in our Engineering Department.

Overall Purpose of job

The successful applicant will be responsible in ensure-ring that all necessary electrical maintenance is planned and carried out effectively and efficiently. Carries out failure mode and performance analysis, designs and implements improvements to maintenance practices and equipment design to improve performance, availability and reduce the cost-for-life of all equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To carry out failure mode and performance analysis, designs methods and procedures to improve equipment availability and reduce maintenance costs, directly supervises major or critical maintenance work to ensure that downtime is maintained at the minimum possible, To assists in fault finding when necessary, Monitors the performance of employees and complete annual performance appraisal forms for staff under the electrical department, To prepare maintenance and availability reports as required, Consults with the maintenance planner to assist in ensuring that all stock levels are appropriately set

Qualification and Experience

Applicants should possess BSc. Engineering or its equivalent in relevant field with at least 5 years' experience in maintenance. The advanced training in Maintenance Management, information Technology and PLC of different system will be an added advantage. He /She must be computer literate with a good command on MS office applications, good communication skills in both written English and Kiswahili together with the ability to work long hours.
